Ski Team at Eaglebrook v. NMH, Deerfield, Suffield

Eaglebrook alum and US Ski Team development racer Ryan Mooney for ran the 2 run GS and kick off racing at the EASTON Ski Area on Saturday, January 28. Hosting the four-school event was the Eaglebrook Ski Club, their first home ski race of the almost snowless winter. But Amy’s Run Trail was in very good condition because of the efforts of Bob Spencer’s snow making crew and the decision to "Salt" the GS run early in the day. NMH, DA, Suffield, and EBS all participated in the top to bottom 2 run GS which saw EBS alum Pat Joyce ’09 (NMH) edge out fellow EBS alum Mark Paton ’08 (Suffield) for top honors. Suffield’s Colin Dowd and Beanie O 'Shea followed suit. Eaglebrook’s Zach Mooney ’14 finished a strong 5th with Zach Leeds ’13 at 11th. Aran Zecha ’14 and Parker Loftus ’13 vastly improved. All Eaglebrook racers participated in the event which saw 60 races take two runs down the fast top to bottom Amy's Run race trail.

The team race scored five finishes from each team, and the results were as follows-NMH (1) 37 pts, Suffield (2) 40 pts, EBS (3) 47pts and DA. All the EBS racers helped set up for the race as part of their Saturday morning activity and the "race crew" was assisted by many EBS racer’s parents. Awards and refreshments followed in the gym and the day race day ended with a feeling of success and knowing that Eaglebrook ran a safe and fun event for all.
