Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. Learn about the programs we offer at Eaglebrook, from athletics to arts.
At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
With a successful 15 day pre season completed the 30 member ski team held elections for captains, a position taken seriously by coaches and team members alike. Eaglebrook Ski Team Captains have gone on to captain seven Division 1 Ski Teams over the years. Returning captain Lucien Malle was overwhelmingly elected to continue his leadership role. Also elected were Fifth Former and long time team member Parker Loftus and new Sixth Former Okemo Mt. program racer Henry Conlon. Coach Shea and his staff look forward to working closely with the newly elected ski team captains.
In other ski team news two time All-American and St Lawrence Captain Kelly Skinner has been added to the coaching staff and will race and coach our program USSA J2s as well hill coach our top USSA J3s. Kelly brings current race experience and leadership to our already strong coaching staff.
During the pre-season the team ran dry land drills to reinforce on hill skills, participated in a ski tuning clinic presented by former US team member and founder/owner of ARTECH, George Merrill. On a Sunday in December the entire team trained at Okemo Mt. Vermont where the coaches got a chance to evaluate each racer and implement the programs new daily warm up routine which emphasizes the USSA ski progression.
This year’s team has a fair amount of talent, lots of enthusiasm, and a cooperative spirit and the entire coaching staff looks forward to a successful race season!
