Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
Eaglebrook Students Support Safe Passage through the 20th Hot Chocolate Run
Braving the chilly and wet conditions in Northampton, MA, a group of committed Eaglebrook students took part in the 20th annual Hot Chocolate Run for Safe Passage on Sunday, December 3. Among the team were faculty members Carter Townsend ’88, and Karen Pleasant, along with Adrian S. '24, Alonso J. '26, Tomas T '24, Peter L. '24, Joey H. '26, Easton G. '26, Ginga T. '25, Sebastian W. '24, Johnny C. '27, and Dylan K. '25. Each student and their faculty chaperones showcased their dedication to community and social responsibility by completing the challenging 5K race, made even more demanding by the pouring rain. This event not only tested their physical endurance but also allowed them to contribute to the important cause of supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
As they crossed the finish line, our Eaglebrook participants exhibited resilience and solidarity. According to Peter L. ‘24, “It was a great atmosphere. I feel that we were running for a great cause.” Mr. Carter Townsend '88 said, “Ten students braved the cold and drizzling skies to complete the 5k Hot Chocolate Run in Northampton. Not only did each runner produce impressive finishing times, their efforts were made in support of the Safe Passage organization.”
The Eaglebrook Community celebrates the positive impact our students make. Their involvement not only raised awareness about domestic abuse but also contributed to the fundraising efforts for Safe Passage, aligning perfectly with the school's Core Skills of accountability, healthy living, and citizenship.
