Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
This past Friday, 2/10, the Eagles headed to the historic battlefield of Concord, MA. Just a mile away from the “Shot Heard Around the World,” the Eagles were ready to begin their own revolution while coming face-to-face with the Fenn School. The match was full of excitement and confusion, but finished on a high note for the Eagles. In what was supposed to be a match consisting of twenty-nine matches, got dwindled down to just twenty after the match began, due to several late Fenn scratches.
The Eagles goal for this match was prove to themselves that they could travel two hours away from home and “get off the bus” to do their jobs and wrestle at their best. Out of the twenty matches the Eagles walked away victorious in fourteen of them, nine of them in pins. Of the Eagles six defeats, five of them went the full three minutes. These matches were extremely exciting to watch and they all were lost by just a point or two. The Eagles showed their dominance on this day, but were always poised and showed the utmost in sportsmanship.
The Eagles have come a long way since November, but are still working to get fully healthy and injury free. With three wrestlers sick and two injured, the Eagles have worked hard at staying healthy through the cold, and already snowy filled month of February. There are only ten practices left this season and one more match at Cardigan until the Eagles arrive at Fessenden for the end of the year tournament. With the end in sight, the Eagles will have to work extra hard in keep their focus on the team’s goal. Go Eagles!
