Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. Learn about the programs we offer at Eaglebrook, from athletics to arts.
At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The varsity basketball team made the trek south to Suffield Academy to face their JV squad. The Eagles were slow to get out of the gate on the offensive end but set the tone early the Suffield would need to work hard for every basket. As has been our calling card all season, defensive stops led to easy fast break points which kept us in the game early. Eventually, we settled down on the offensive end of the floor and opened up a 6-point lead just before halftime. Suffield capitalized on a few turnovers as the half was ending and cut their deficit to 30-28. The second half continued to be a tug of war, with Suffield holding the upper hand for most of the frame. After jumping out to a six lead the Tigers felt in control. Eaglebrook continued to work hard on the defensive end and eventually grabbed a lead they would not relinquish with just over two minutes to play. Suffield made a last-minute run, cutting the lead to 2 points, but the Eagles got a stop when they needed it the most and walked away with a 57-55 victory.
Next up for Eaglebrook will be a Winter Carnival game against Frontier's JV team.
