DEERFIELD, Mass. – February 16, 2024 – JV Hockey hosted the Western Mass Wizards Friday night.
The game got off to a tough start, with the Wizards controlling play and drawing penalties from the Eagles to put Eaglebrook into an early 2-0 hole.
But the JV squad collected themselves and started to create scoring chances. They netted a goal toward the end of the second period and looked to carry momentum into the final period.
The Eagles played most of the third period in the offensive zone, but they could not score on the Wizards goalie.
As time was expiring, Eaglebrook pulled their goalie and was putting significant pressure on the Wizards, but a penalty took away the advantage and the home team's opportunity to tie up the game.
The tough loss ended their game-winning streak, but the Eagles immediately turned their attention to facing their Franklin County Hockey Association on Saturday.
