Shorthanded Thirds Basketball Prevails Over Rectory
POMFRET, Conn. – February 17, 2024 – Thirds Basketball improved its season mark to 6-4 with a 40-32 road win over the Rectory School on Saturday afternoon.
Despite having just seven players available to suit up, the Eagles opened the contest with an evenly fought first quarter on the strength of eight points from Beckett L. '25, and they claimed a 20-14 lead at the half.
Eaglebrook upped its advantage to 11 by the end of the third quarter before Rectory mounted a comeback attempt that brought them to within two.
That was as close as the hosts got as the Eagles held their composure in the final three minutes of the game and made timely shots to preserve the victory.
Next up is the season final with crosstown rival Bement School. The tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 on Tuesday, February 20.
